English Language Features and Techniques.
Can you spot the English language features and techniques?
The rain rattled at the windows. She was tired, forlorn and empty of emotion. The days had seemed to last weeks and she was tired of waiting. She went outside and felt the pitter patter of the rain, which had calmed. A crow flew overhead and seemed to shout a warning to her. She wouldn’t listen, she ignored any warning that would bring heartache, pain or discomfort. She wanted to see Tom and tell him he was her hearts-desire.
The language features in this short text should be recognised by all GCSE students. In the exams, they are expected to find these features and techniques and write about their effect on the reader. They are also expected to understand why they were used by the author. See how many you can find!
